A selection of things I have grown to love about this city…
*Crêpe Stands- Boston has nothing from what I can remember, New York has hot dog and peanut stands…and Paris has crêpe stands. What a great invention. What I love about crêpe stands is that it gives an option for people like me who hate fried food, to have something nice while on the go. Throw in a variety of options such as nutella, sugar and butter, and even mushrooms if you so please, there’s always a new flavor to try and a crêpe to suit your fancy while strolling along the Seine or (if you’re more like me) running from the metro to class because you slept in late again.
*Metro Countdown Clock- Another brilliant idea the Parisians have. In the majority of the metro stops they have a ticker hanging from the ceiling that lets you know when the next train will come. Usually, they are 2 minutes apart (which is also convenient). But can you imagine if this was installed by the MTA? I can’t tell you how many times I would run into the ACE/123 station on 59th and 8th to catch my train to Boston and wonder if it would be quicker to catch a cab than wait for the subway. It would resolve a lot of stress and second guessing.
