I’ve got a lot of people in my life. Here’s a list to keep you up to date with who’s who in case you need a refresher. As you probably know, I’ve never been fond of using real names.
The Family:
Roomie- Roomie and I first got to know one another through Marshall Cat around November/December of 2007. When we both found out that we were going to Paris in the same program, we decided to co-habitat. She’s the “easiest going” person I know. We each have a weakness for wine and if you combined us into one person, we’d be fluent in French.
Wifey- Freshman year in college we lived next door to one another, and have been inseparable (and married on Facebook) ever since. In September we have a wedding in Italy to attend to, and living without her in an 800 meter radius is going to be a challenge.
B.B.F.T.W.C.D. (Best Friend Forever That Words Can’t Describe)- <—That pretty much sums it up, having been best friends since Power Rangers were the cool thing to reenact on the grammar school playground.
The Americans:
Gib Gib- My fellow ex-NCAA tracky in Paris avec moi, and we’re looking to get back on the athletic board. Potentially a distance running future? We’re running partners with a drinking problem, or is it the other way around?
Silver- Once you’re in a car fire with someone (yes you read that right), you’re going to be friends for life. Period. While in Paris she’s going to be traveling the world, studying marine biology in Nahant, French Polynesia, and Catalina Island. Not too shabby right?
Marshall Cat- There’s a pretty surreal backstory to how we met and became close, which one day I might pitch to HBO. Until then he’s Marshall Cat (or sometimes referenced as Marshall, Cat, or MC pending on my mood).
MoRo- We lived on the same floor Freshman year, and now she’s studying in Alicante for fall semester. Before she goes though, she and Roomie are going to Geneva, then she’s going to be with us in Paris until her program starts mid-September. Put the three of us together and you’re bound to get some stories.
Oakland- The chef to my sous chef and the only person that could convince me to ride the MTA to Cooney Island. She’s back in Boston and going to do some Dialogues soon…and maybe visit me in France?
Pokey- Always game for reciting parts from “Tim and Eric Awesome” on the subway heading to Brooklyn, Pokey is extremely observant and multi-lingual.
